This Friday is a big day for both cinema and TV in the UK. Firstly concentrating on the big screen, Joe Berlinger's hotly anticipated Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile hits cinemas on Friday, starring Zac Efron and Lily Collins. Underscoring the crime drama is Marco Beltrami who you may know for Velvet Buzzsaw (2019), A Quiet Place (2018) and Logan (2017), and Dennis Smith who has previously worked on Free Solo (2018), Lucifer (2015-2016) and The Originals (2013-2014). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Friday is all about the biopic as Dome Karukoski's Tolkien starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins (again!) will also be released. Following the life of the highly gifted Lord of the Rings author, the film is soundtracked by one of our favourites, Thomas Newman who you may know for such films as Finding Dory (2016), Spectre (2015) and Bridge of Spies (2015). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Friday is also all about Marco Beltrami as he has scored a second film coming out on the 3rd, Jonathan Levine's Long Shot. Starring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogan, this romantic comedy follows a man who bumbs into his first crush who just happens to be running for president. Beltrami worked with Miles Hankins to underscore the sparks who has previously worked on Being Serena (2018), Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale (2017) and The Night Before (2015). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Next up is Kim Nguyen's The Hummingbird Project starring Jesse Eisenberg and Alexander Skarsgård as two high-frequency traders who compete against their old boss to make millions. The thriller is scored by Yves Gourmeur who currently has few credits to his name, but this film is sure to be the beginning of big things.

Also out on Friday is Anthony Maras' Hotel Mumbai starring Dev Patel which follows the true story of the Taj Hotel terrorist attack. Soundtracking the thriller is Oscar-nominated composer Volker Bertelmann who has previously scored What Doesn't Kill Us (2018), Adrift (2018) and The Current War (2017).

And finally, Brady Corbet's Vox Lux comes to our big screens on Friday. Starring Natalie Portman and Jude Law as a pop star and her manager, the story follows some unusual circumstances which lead to unexpected success. The soundtrack was written by the late and great Scott Walker who sadly died last month. The American-born English singer-songwriter, composer and record producer rose to fame as a singer in '60s pop group The Walker Brothers before finding further success in the UK as a solo artist.
