This week, it's the moment we've all been waiting for. The live-action remake of Dumbo comes to UK cinemas this Friday. Directed by Tim Burton, it's no surprise this Disney classic will be underscored by Burton's long-time musical collaborator Danny Elfman. As well as the majority of Burton's work, Elfman has also underscored films such as the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise (2015-2018), Justice League (2017) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Also out on Friday is Rupert Wyatt's Captive State. Scoring the aftermath of an extra-terrestrial occupation in Chicago is Rob Simonsen who is probably best known for underscoring the Oscar-winning Foxcatcher as well as Love, Simon (2018), Tully (2017) and The Upside (2017).

And finally, if neither of those titles tickle your fancy, you could check out Julian Schnabel's At Eternity's Gate. This picture follows the life of artist Vincent van Gogh while he lived in Arles and Auvers-sur-Oise, France. Underscoring this artistic film is Tatiana Lisovskaya who currently has few credits to her name, but we hope this is the beginning of a long prosperous career for the composer.

Tomorrow night, another drama is coming to BBC One in the form of Pitching In which follows the struggles of a large family in Wales. Underscoring the first series is Matthew Hall and Stephen Vedmore, a composing duo who have previously worked on such TV series as Moving On (2019) and Broken (2017). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Thursday's a big night for UK TV. Firstly, and most importantly, the sixth series of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres on E4. Jake and the crew have been underscored by Dan Marocco since series one in 2013, and this series is no different. Marocco has also composed for Brotherhood (2010) and Say Yes to the Dress (2007-2008). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Secondly, the fifth series of Jane the Virgin will be available on Netflix UK. The series composer Kevin Kiner is thought to be returning for a fifth time to underscore Jane and her miracle baby. Kiner has worked on a number of high-profile projects including CSI: Miami (2003-2012), Narcos: Mexico (2018) and Making a Murderer (2015-2018). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Also out on E4 on Thursday is Dead Pixels which has been heavily advertised in recent weeks. The series, which follows three friends and their obsession with a video game, is underscored by another composing duo: Paul Arnold and Andrew Barnabas. Arnold and Barnabas have previously underscored Armchair Detectives (2017), Dispatches (2016-2017) and I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse (2015). The soundtrack is not currently available.

Amazon Prime users are in for a treat as the first series of action drama Hanna will be released on Friday. The story of the on-the-run wild-child as she endeavours to discover who she is is scored by composing trio Geoff Barrow, Ben Salisbury and Simon Ashdown, Barrow and Salisbury have previously worked together on Annihilation (2018), Black Mirror (2016) and Ex Machina (2014) while Ashdown is probably best known for working on popular TV series One Strange Rock (2018). The soundtrack is not currently available.
