Films, TV shows and their soundtracks to look forward to this week.

This International Women's Day, we're thrilled to share that Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel is coming to a cinema near you. Underscoring the next female-led superhero film is none other than Turkish composer Pinar Toprak. Toprak is thriving in this male-dominated industry, having already composed for acclaimed DC series Krypton (2018) as well as immensely popular video game Fortnite. Toprak is Marvel's first ever female composer and is the first woman to a score a major superhero film - it's better late than never!
Also out on Friday is Ali Abbasi's Border which follows the story of a customs officer who develops an unusual attraction to a strange traveler while aiding a police investigation. Underscoring the eye-opening sequence is Christoffer Berg and Martin Dirkov. Berg has little credits to his name but did compose for LittleBigPlanet on PS Vita, while Dirkov has slightly more credits including Holiday (2018) and The Charmer (2017). The soundtrack is not currently available.
The third mention for Friday is Asghar Farhadi's Everybody Knows. Starring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, the film follows a Spanish woman who uncovers some secrets when visiting home. At the musical helm is Spanish composer Javier Limón whose few credits are obviously Spanish. His work on this film, however, could lead to his English breakthrough. The soundtrack is not currently available.
And finally, Friday will see Maggie Gyllenhaal in her latest role as The Kindergarten Teacher who becomes obsessed with one of her students. Scoring Sara Colangelo's flick is Asher Goldschmidt whose previous credits include a plethora of Israeli films. Like Limón, The Kindergarten Teacher could be Colangelo's English breakthrough. The soundtrack is not currently available.

Wandmacher has composed for a number of TV series including Imaginary Mary (2017) as well as such films as Piranha 3D and a range of video games. The soundtrack is not currently available.

On Thursday, Netflix users will have yet another series to add to their never-ending watchlist, The Order. Shelley Eriksen and Dennis Heaton's supernatural horror is soundtracked by Patric Caird who has previously composed for TV series Ghost Wars (2017-2018), Save Me (2017) and Mythos (2015). The soundtrack is not currently available.
